Here it goes: I (Mason DeFoe) make get-to-the-point music intended to invoke real human emotions rather than fumbling around with immoderate language and pretentious chords. Reminiscent of Sonic Youth’s noise, Joy Division's even-ness, and Buzzcock’s poppy melodies, I combine new tunings, unconventional recording styles, and a monotone vocal delivery into my own unique mix. I specialize in what I call Noise-Pop, a blend of the pop I grew up listening to, the punk music I worshipped, and the noise rock I'm infatuated with. Innovative recordings aren’t the only achievement under the my belt, I also cultivate a captivating and invigorating live performance for fans to experience at face value with my current band Times New Roman. With lyrical inspiration coming from internet incidents, b-rated movies, the church, and growing up in the late 2000s, I create music that all generations can enjoy, human or not.
